My role is the Family Support Collaborative Coordinator. This is a project which supports parents and carers across Clackmannanshire to access support, services, and activities within the local community. The project came about due to an identified need for information to be delivered as it was recognised that families and carers were not aware of the services which existed in the local area. The project is delivered via drop-ins in various local community hubs. The aim is to support families in crisis, children on the edge of care, and children who have been through care, to ensure they have the support they require to alleviate challenges which may be faced.
I have spent most of my career working in roles where I have supported others, and I am passionate about this. Areas I have previously worked in include self-directed support, mental health, supporting vulnerable young people, social care, and supporting individuals experiencing addiction through substance use.
In terms of education, I have completed an HNC in Social Care, and later completed a BA in Psychology and an MSc in Health Psychology.
In my spare time I am a Reiki Teacher, Shamanic Practitioner, and Yoga Teacher. I enjoy playing guitar, singing, swimming, reading, and walking in nature.
