Volunteering FAQ

Wondering if volunteering is for you?

Thinking about volunteering, but not sure if it’s for you?  We’ve compiled some of the most Frequently Asked Questions about volunteering to help support your decision in starting your volunteer journey.

If you still can’t find the answer you’re looking for, get in touch.

Volunteering is simply the giving of your time without pay, for the benefit of groups, communities, the environment, and most importantly yourself!  Volunteering benefits your personal development through gaining experience, confidence and improving your health.  It is also a fun way to meet new people!

Volunteering should fit around you and your other commitments.  There’s a role for everyone, whether you can commit a few hours a week, or get involved in a one off event once a year.

There are many reasons why people volunteer:

  • To meet new people
  • Do something they enjoy
  • A pathway into new things, new jobs, new training
  • Improve your community
  • Have fun
  • Build confidence
  • Improve your health

The list is never ending!
