Trustees’ Week is an annual event to showcase the great work of trustees and provide opportunities for everyone to get involved and make a difference.
Trustees’ Week, which runs from 1st – 5th November 2021 is an excellent opportunity to recognise the work of trustees, and thank them for volunteering their time and supporting your organisation.
Throughout Trustees’ Week, there will be a series of local and national events taking place, to highlight the work of trustees, encourage more people to consider becoming charity trustees, and more!

Calling all Trustees! A Conversation with Steve Carroll, HMRC

SVE are delighted to announce that during Trustees’ week we will present a webinar conversation with Steve Carroll from the Outreach Department for HMRC Charities Savings & International. Steve’s specialism is Gift Aid. Alan Clevett, an SVE trustee, will be hosting and interviewing Steve on this webinar.
Please submit your questions around Gift Aid and Tax for charities in advance. Steve can also answer questions about VAT and Corporation Tax, however responses will be generic and not specific to individual charities.

Help Your Organisation with Cyber Security

FREE Cyber Resilience training available for individuals working for organisations in the Third Sector. The aim of the 1 hour session is to enhance your knowledge in the following areas:
- Password security
- Scam/ phishing emails – how to spot and what to do
- Device security
Making small changes can have a big difference on an organisation’s online security. Learn the cyber resilient behaviours to have the tools you need to protect your organisation.
Trustee Roles & Responsibilities
Date: Friday 5th November
This informal workshop will explore up-to-date Scottish legislation regarding trustee’s roles and duties.
We will look some of the other specific duties that apply to Trustees of Scottish charities. All of this will come backed up with a handy resource pack and chance to ask questions.
