This year’s Scottish Learning Disability Awards are currently open for nominations. The Awards are run by the Scottish Commission for Learning Disability and are a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the talent, achievements and contribution that people with learning disabilities of all ages and backgrounds, make to our communities right across Scotland.
This year we have added a new award category which may be of particular interest to organisations who work with volunteers. The ‘Volunteering in your community’ category aims to recognise the contribution that people with learning disabilities make to their communities through volunteering, either as individuals or as part of a group.
The ‘Community Enterprise’ category may be relevant to social enterprises and local businesses who work with people with learning disabilities and want to recognise the contribution of an individual or group of people with learning disabilities to their local community.
The closing date for award nominations is Monday 4th February, which is fast approaching and thus we would really appreciate it if you could help to spread the word about the Learning Disability Awards amongst your local networks. Please see attached an information sheet which offers more details on the different award categories and how to nominate.
