Safe & Together Approach to working with Domestic Abuse

Falkirk Safe and Together Approach:    Mentor Recruitment & Training Information

We are looking to recruit ‘Mentors’ to help make the shift to domestic abuse informed culture, systems and practice.  This approach includes the use of an evidence based model (originated in USA) designed to lead to improved outcomes for families affected by domestic abuse. It can also help to improve outcomes for ALL families we work with.

Mentors will receive four day intensive skill based multi-agency training. They will be expected to use this in direct practice in their assessments with families and from this direct experience and deeper understanding of the model, Mentors will be equipped to become advocates within their teams and local area.

Falkirk Child Protection Committee (CPC) has invested in training 2 Mentors as Trainers. This enables the training to be offered at a reduced cost for each delegate (to cover the cost of training materials, and pre/post course tests). This cost is based on the currency rate at the time of registration – $150 (approx. £120) for 4 days core skills training and $37.50 (approx. £30) for the one day overview session.
