Senior Community Link Worker

I started working for CTSI in Feb 2022, being brought in as the Senior Community Link Worker (CLW) for Clackmannanshire. The CLW team is a small team of 4 individuals covering both Stirling and Clackmannanshire. I am based in the Whins Medical Practice and support people with non medical needs, such as housing, finances, social isolation and low level mental health conditions, to access support from other organisations and local community groups.

I work closely with a number of local organisations and regularly attend Community Breakfasts or Locality Planning forums as the other part of my role is to look at the local services and groups available, to identify where there are any “gaps” in support and look to encourage organisations to provide those services in our area.

So far, we have facilitated Cruse Scotland offering face to face appointments in the local area, using one of the community spaces; are currently engaged in running a pilot with Thriving Survivors in Stirling and are looking to set up a peer support group for autistic adults.

The Senior Community Link Role is a fantastic role. I love working with people and working with them to help them achieve their goals, breaking down barriers and allowing people to access the best support available for them. I have varied days and am getting to know so many people in the local and surrounding areas. Clacks has so many things to offer and I am grateful to have so many wonderful resources to call on to help the people I see.
