Christopher White

Volunteer Development Officer

As CTSI’s Volunteer Development Officer, I am the lead on volunteering within CTSI. With sub-briefs in meeting young people and supporting their onward voluntary journeys’ and promoting Saltire Awards across Clackmannanshire. I also meet with our members in the local Third Sector and help them develop rewarding volunteering opportunities. I also lead on chairing our Volunteer Manager Forums.

The role also allows me to connect with member organisations that want to engage with volunteers to sustainably grow their talent pools to better support their evolving needs.

Since 2011, I have always been volunteering in some capacity, I have done everything from charity shops to fundraisers, an expedition to Africa and youth work, and more recently serving on charity boards. I found volunteering helped lift me when I struggled with poor mental health and low self-confidence it offered a purpose and a sense of belonging in the local communities I served. Being a volunteer has allowed me to witness the foremost challenges that affect the world around me and the solutions employed to tackle them. Finally, volunteering has allowed me to meet inspirational personalities and help many worthy causes around the world.

On a personal note, when I am not working or volunteering, you’ll find me outside in nature watching birds or walking; or on a dreich day doing some political research and cooking!
