Brian Weaver

IT & Training Officer

My name is Brian Weaver and I’m the IT & Training Officer.

After leaving university I worked in the Environmental and Conservation field before working in the Mental Health and Library Services in Local Government. All of these roles involved a combination of delivering training, qualifications and IT skills.

In my current role at CTSI I deliver IT skills classes as well as carrying out various research projects. As part of our Tackling Inequalities aims, I also recruit & train volunteers who become our Digital Champions. They assist members of the public with IT skills, as part of the Digital Participation Programme, all across Clackmannanshire. Currently delivering our Techshare scheme, which involves refurbishing donations of used digital devices and distributing to those who are digitally excluded.

What I really enjoy about my role at CTSI is seeing people gaining or improving their IT skills, whether it be for use in their personal life or for progressing into employment or volunteering.

In my spare time I like going to watch Scotland play rugby, cycling, walking the dog and have an unhealthy obsession with Lord of the Rings. I am also interested in anything to do with the First and Second World Wars and do voluntary work with the Commonwealth War Graves Commission.
