My role at CTSI is a Senior Community Connector, with a focus on families across Clackmannanshire. This role aims to engage and support families within the authority to access support, services and activities in their local area at a “boots on the ground” level. My caseload will be sourced from the community hubs and referrals from other services to find what will work best and offer the most effective support for the families I work with, while working in partnership with local and national agencies, community groups, council-funded groups and council programmes.
I have spent most of my adult life working with young people and families in different capacities; with ages ranging from toddler to adulthood, and I am passionate about supporting people to reach their goals and aspirations. I have experience working in mental health support, detached and venue-based youth work, alternate education pathways, 1-1 support, small group support, community learning and development, supporting care-experienced young people and adults, and building relationships within the local community.
I have completed my BA. Hons in Philosophy and Psychology, with my MSc. In Psychology the following year. I have completed various courses to improve my practice; including ASSIST, Solihull approach and Scottish Mental Health First Aid.
Outside of work, I enjoy watching movies and tv shows, learning how to play instruments, listening to podcasts and cooking. When the weather is better, I like to go into the garden and do some small-scale wood carving and help my neighbours revive the garden.
