Business with a Heart – Employer Supported Volunteering

Find out more about our new Business with a Heart Programme

CTSI’s new Business with a Heart Programme seeks to encourage employers to support their staff to undertake volunteering roles.

Pre-COVID, CTSI had begun conversations with our local third sector, and businesses about what an employer supported volunteering programme could look like locally.  There are many proven benefits to employers supporting volunteering; from increased productivity in staff due to increased wellbeing and connection to their community, to increasing company reputation and awareness through staff involvement in the community.  We plan to launch this programme under the name “Business with a Heart”.

Business with a Heart will be established as a tiered approach, to ensure any size business is able to get involved, at a level that suits them.  Due to the pandemic, progress has been stalled.  However, we hope the platform of Volunteers’ Week will allow us to re-start conversations and preparations to make Business with a Heart a reality.  Over the past year, with furlough, reduced hours, and homeworking, workplaces have adapted incredibly, and worked much more flexibly than they perhaps have before, and so we feel this is the perfect time to build on this flexibility and have a positive legacy from the pandemic.

If you are a local employer, we would like to hear your views on Business with a Heart and engage with you to ensure the programme reflects what is practical and achievable for local employers.  Please get in touch on 01259 213 840 or admin@ctsi.org.uk
