Senior Policy and Development Coordinator (Alcohol-Free Childhood)

£32,000 (34.5 hours per week)
Fixed-term post (1 year, secondments will be considered)

Alcohol Focus Scotland (AFS) is Scotland’s national alcohol charity, committed to preventing and reducing harm to individuals, families, communities and Scotland as a whole.

We are seeking a highly skilled policy professional to join our passionate team on a one-year contract to develop and manage our work promoting every child’s right to an ‘alcohol free childhood’. You will have a varied and challenging role, developing our evidence base and policy advocacy work in relation to alcohol marketing, as well as reducing the impact on children and young people of drinking by parents or carers. Your experience of working with diverse partners and people, and of developing practical policy options, will enable you to achieve impact, improving the lives of children and young people.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone to develop and shape the future activity of this programme and ensure that AFS continues to be at the forefront of influencing alcohol policy in Scotland.

Passionate about using evidence to effect change in policy and practice? Committed to working in partnership? Alcohol Focus Scotland is looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our dedicated team.

As Scotland’s national alcohol charity, Alcohol Focus Scotland works to prevent and reduce alcohol harm. We are seeking a highly skilled policy professional to develop our work supporting local Alcohol and Drug Partnerships (ADPs) in implementing evidence-based approaches to reducing alcohol harm. Your experience in influencing and networking will be used to develop our partnerships at a local level. You will analyse and communicate policy, share information, and develop practical tools and resources to support ADPs to improve the lives of people in their area.

This is an exciting opportunity for you to develop and shape the local implementation of national policy. If you share our commitment to putting evidence-based policy into practice, we’d love to hear from you.
