Age Scotland – Dementia and Veterans’ Awareness Training
You may know that Age Scotland has secured three-year funding to develop a Veterans’ Project, raising awareness of veterans’ rights and the support available to them, promoting better health and well-being and connecting them into groups and organisations in the community. A new publication: The Veterans’ Guide to Later Life in Scotland, will be published in early June, providing advice on topics including money, health, housing and care and support. The guide is free and can be ordered from the Age Scotland helpline, tel: 0800 12 44 222.
Training, organised by Age Scotland and to be held in Volunteer Scotland, Jubilee House, Forthside Way, Stirling, FK8 1QZ on Thursday 28 June from 9.30am – 3pm. Participants will receive dementia awareness training in the morning and veteran awareness training in the afternoon.
