Clackmannanshire Citizens Advice Bureau – New premises.
Clackmannanshire Citizens Advice Bureau: New premises.
We are delighted to announce we have moved to new refurbished offices in Alloa.
These new premises will allow us to increase existing services and develop new essential services, benefiting the people of Clackmannanshire.
We first opened to the public in February 1967 and were based at 6 Marshill, Alloa. At that time, the Bureau consisted of only one room which was used as a drop-in service for the public. Then in 1999, we moved to a new refurbished premises in Drysdale Street, which offered a number of rooms, consisting of both offices and interview rooms enabling us to assist a larger number of clients. Over the last few years the increasing demand on our services has continued and a decision was taken to secure new premises. On the 18th December 2017 we moved to our new premises within Glebe Hall, Burgh Mews. This new community hub is shared with Clackmannanshire Third Sector Interface (CTSI).
During 2017 we have experienced a significant increase in the number of people requiring assistance from us. We were visited on 10,284 occasions by the people of Clackmannanshire requiring our help. During these visits we assisted with a total of 13,669 issues that generated 1 million pounds back into the pockets of Clackmannanshire residents.
To complement our drop in service we have been successful in securing additional funding to provide a variety of projects. A full list of the services and projects can be accessed via our website, Facebook and twitter sites.
We would like to thank our dedicated volunteers for all their hard work, commitment and additional hours they have provided. This ensures that the best service possible is provided to the people of Clackmannanshire requiring assistance from their local CAB.
We would also like to extend a warm thanks to all the funders and Citizens Advice Scotland, without whose help and support we would be unable to deliver additional valuable projects to our community.
